Travel to China
- Oasis China Visa.
In 2011, I had to wait in the visa office of the Chinese Embassy in
Washington. The line was long, and I was not sure whether I filled
in the visa application form correctly.
After waiting about 10 minutes, I was told by one of the building keepers about a visa company on the third floor of the same building. I went there, and found out I filled in an out-dated application form and I forgot one of the documents to be attached.
One of the agents was kind enough to retype the visa application to the updated form. Another person was skilful enough to download the missing document from my computer and print it. They said the application photo could be produced at the one half of the market price. The name of this company is OasisChinaVisa.Com
In 2013, I went there again. This time, the line was short in the Embassy visa office, but I chose to go to the OasisChinaVisa.Com again. The visa form was again out-dated but they told me the Embassy would accept the old form if submitted by their company. Again, they provided a professional service to eliminate extra works for me.
In March of 2014, I went there again for my trip to China in April of 2014. The company has a computer program to fill in the application form after asking me questions. I then printed out and signed. I went there without the visa photo. No problem, they had a camera to take care of it.
The staff members are all professional and were able to answer my questions about the transportation system within China.

However, in 2005, I had to the Baltic city of Kaliningrad as a tourist without invitation from any institution. I had to arrange my trip with Russia's Intourist. This company was established during the Soviet era by Lavrentiy Beria. Beria was known as Stalin's right-hand man performing brutal actions against their own people. On the other hand, he was a very efficient man.
Yes, Intourist was an efficient organization with an amazing degree of personal care. The company arranged a hotel, transportation from and to the airport, and a guide service.
After noting that I am a professor, the company was able to hire a female local professor as my guide. Apparently many Russian professionals for this tourist company as part-time basis. Brilliant idea indeed.
I stayed in Kaliningrad for three nights in order to study Immanuel Kant's background. Intourist provided an excellent service for me. Here is my webpage for Kaliningrad.
