In 1962, after spending four years in Princeton, I came to the University of Maryland as an assistant professor of physics. This University is in the Greater Washington area and is only fifteen miles from the White House. I am now a standard Washingtonian. Did you know that there are many more scientists than politicians in this area?

• I got married in 1963.
• I bought my house in 1969.
• I sent my son to Princeton in 1983. He looked like this in 1968.
• He went to Harvard for his graduate study in 1987.

• Happiness is to achieve childhood dreams. When I was a high-school student, I was eager to tell stories to everybody in the world. This is now possible thanks to internet technologies.
