University of Crete
The Theoretical High Energy and Cosmology group at the University of Crete is expected to have the following postdoctoral openings for the academic year 2009:
- 3-4 postdoctoral positions in the general area of Theoretical High
Energy physics
and Cosmology. Applicants should have a PhD in the field. Their
initial appointment will be for 2 years with the possibility to extend it
for one more year. Successful applicants will be expected to start their
appointment on June 1
2009, but alternative starting dates may be negotiated. The net salary
is expected to be about 2000 Euros/month, and it is close to a University
full professor salary in Greece. Interested applicants should apply via the

- A senior postdoctoral position in the general area of High Energy physics and Cosmology (theory) is available. Applicants should have a PhD in the field as well as some postdoctoral experience in leading institutions of research. Moreover they should have provable experience to organize and lead their research effort. This appointment is for three years and may lead to a faculty appointment at the Physics Department. The net salary is expected to be about 4000 Euros/month. University of Crete
The High Energy and Cosmology group at the University of Crete is seeking to support candidates towards obtaining an Marie Curie Individaul fellowship to come and do research in Crete. Citizens of European Community countries, Associated countries and even any other country qualify.The candidates should have a PhD degree in high energy theory and cosmology and some postdoctoral experience in the same field. They should send a CV, list of publications, a statement of research interests and should arrange to have sent by email three letters of reference from senior researchers in the field, to Prof. Elias Kiritsis, kiritsis@physics.uoc.gr before the end of June 2008. A selection of the supported candidates will happen in the first part of July. The deadline for application to the EU is 19/8/2008
